Influential Mainstream Political Organisations, India Administered Jammu and Kashmir

1. Jammu and Kashmir National Conference

The JKNC is one of the oldest political organisations of the State, and was established during the Princely State Period. Formed from the Muslim Conference, it had a key role in accession to India. It dominates the mainstream politics, and has long controlled the State with a mixture of democracy and brute force. While Pro-Indian Autonomism is surely an ideology, whether it is left-wing or right-wing cannot be said. 

2. People's Democratic Party

The People's Democratic Party, is another regionalist, Pro-Indian Party. It entered the NDA coalition with BJP, which it criticizes now.

1. All Parties Hurriyat Conference

A merger of many political, social and religious organizations, the APHC leads separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a Kashmiri Nationalist, Islamist organisation. 

2. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front

JKLF, once Jammu and Kashmir's dominant, most heavily supported armed militia, is now a peaceful organisation campaigning for a Free, Secular Kashmir. The JKLF opposed the division of Gilgit-Baltistan and Ladakh from Jammu and Kashmir.
